I have to say that pasta in bianco in some form or another is definitely my children’s first choice favourite for dinner. When I make them plain pasta with parmesan and olive oil or butter they smile and behave well. So this is another serveable version of macaroni cheese with parmesan — but you might want to use another cheese, if you prefer. This version also has some chopped up ham added to it and some sautéed peas might be good, too, depending on what you think your family will like. If not, just totally white is also good. You can just put this onto the table and not worry about anything. We also make a plain cheese version often. Here I use short penne, because you can get them into your mouth easily, but you can use any: ordinary penne, rigatoni, macaroni etc... I make it in this fairly small dish as it’s not fantastic the next day.
