Cranberry Christmas Bread

I published this bread first in The Bread Bible, but then found that adding a simple dough starter (biga) gave it extra flavor, softer texture, and a longer shelf life. This bread is perfect with cheese and so beautiful that it is especially appropriate for the holidays.
