Coconut Bananas in Maple Syrup and Toasted Sesame Seeds

Sesame is available in various forms: pastes, oils and seeds. The seeds are a popular ingredient in the cuisines of Japan, China and Korea. Dry-toasting enhances their flavor, adds a little crunch and colors them an inviting golden-brown. This is an easy dessert – the bananas are cooked in coconut milk and served with a generous sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds and a drizzle of maple syrup. A bed of vanilla ice cream can be added especially for ice cream lovers.
