Choose a melon that is just ripe; cut a round incision in the top and remove the piece.
Remove the seeds and filament; scoop out the flesh with a silver spoon and cut it into cubes. Sprinkle the inside of the melon with plenty of icing sugar and refill it with alternate layers of wild strawberries and the diced melon, sprinkling each layer with sugar.
Arrange on a serviette and serve accompanied with wafer biscuits.
