Many Spaniards believe that grilled peppers are a strong aphrodisiac. If they are right, then the Greeks from the northern part of the country, where this dish is eaten all the time, should feel very sexy indeed.

Peppers, like tomatoes, were brought to Greece after the discovery of the Americas. They have become an indispensable part of Greek cooking, especially in northern regions.

The large, fleshy red peppers of Florina are famous. Long, with a pointed end, they are much
