Panch phoran is available from specialty retailers, but Suvir Saran shared his recipe. It is typically used as a whole spice, adding texture as well as flavor, but Suvir says you can also pulverize it if you wish.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
  • 1 table

Method

Mix together and store in an airtight container for up to 1 year.
