This is a light and easy-to-prepare/easy-to-digest Ghanaian gluten-free porridge/drink. It is just rice cooked with extra water. While rice water is an ordinary breakfast porridge for anyone, in Ghana it is especially recommended for children and invalids, especially when made thinner with even more water or richer with extra milk. The texture differs from North American “Cream of Rice” cereal, which is made from ground rice.
