Some people, instead of mashing the berries, sprinkle them into a glass jar with an opening on the bottom of the jar. [Plug the bottom opening], tie up the jar with paper, and set it in the summer oven after baking bread. When the juice is released and the berries float to the top, let out the juice through the bottom opening and cook as indicated above.
