Day One

Grilled Flank Steak and Basic Baked Potatoes with side salad.

Plan Ahead: Grill an extra flank steak and bake five pounds of potatoes. That will most likely leave you with two to three pounds of flank steak and eight to ten potatoes left over.

Meal Time: 1 hour 15 minutes

Day Two

Steakhouse Salad. This is a really hearty salad, and I think it works great as a meal.

Meal Time: 15 minutes

Day Three

Weeknight Gnocchi. Serve with a salad or garlic bread.

Plan Ahead: Make a double batch of the Basic Red Sauce; use half to accompany the gnocchi and the other half for a pizza sauce later in the week.

Meal Time: 45 minutes

Day Four

Vietnamese Noodle Salad. It’s okay if you don’t have quite enough steak to make a full batch of this. It’s plenty filling with even half the steak in the recipe. You’ll probably have leftovers of this also, which are great the next day for lunch.

Meal Time: 30 minutes

Day Five

Potato Pizza. Use homemade or store-bought crust. Use leftover marinara sauce thinned with a bit of water and blended as a quick pizza sauce.

Meal Time: 30 minutes plus homemade crust prep if you go that route.
