Okra is also delicious steamed. Trim the okra pods just where the stem begins, but do not cut into the pods. Put a tiny amount of water into a pan, add the okra, and cover tightly. Steam over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes or until all of the water evaporates. Open the lid and dress the okra with a bit of butter and salt and pepper to taste.
