  • 2 cups(1 pound) dried pea beans or navy beans

Method

  1. Wash the beans, cover with cold water, and soak overnight. Or cover beans with water, bring to a boil for two minutes, cover, and let stand for one hour.

  2. Place the beans in a saucepan with enough of the water they were soaked in just to cover them. Add the garlic, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and simmer for about forty-five minutes, or until barel
