  • 1 cup sugar
  • cups water
  • ¼ teaspoon aniseeds
  • teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup fresh orange sections
  • ½ cup fresh grapefruit sections
  • ½ cup seeded fresh grape halves
  • ½ cup diced fresh pears
  • ½ cup diced unpeeled raw apples
  • ½ cup diced fresh pineapple


    Combine the sugar, water, aniseeds and salt in a saucepan. Mix well, bring to a boil, and cook for three or four minutes. Strain over the mixed fruit, chill, and serve.
