  • ¾ cup butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon crushed aniseeds
  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk


    1. Preheat oven to hot (400°F.).

    2. Cream the butter until fluffy. Gradually blend in the sugar and aniseeds. Sift flour with baking powder and salt and add to the butter mixture alternately with a mixture of the egg and milk. Mix well.

    3. Fill a cookie press with the dough. Form cookies of any desired shapes on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for eight to ten minutes.
