  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons milk


    1. Preheat oven to hot (400°F.).

    2. Add the nutmeg and salt to the butter. Mix well. Gradually blend in the sugar and beat in the egg.

    3. Sift the flour with baking powder and add it to the nutmeg mixture along with the milk. Mix well.

    4. Force the dough through a cookie press onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake the cookies for eight to ten minutes. Cool on wire racks.
