Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water

Method

  1. Mix the egg whites, sugar and water in the top part of a double boiler. Beat with a rotary or electric beater until thoroughly mixed.

  2. Place over boiling water and cook for one minute, beating constantly. Remove from the heat and continue beating until the meringue stands in stiff peaks. Pile lightly over the pie filling. This type of meringue is not brow
