Drago Cvitanovich was the oyster king of New Orleans for four decades. Like most oystermen in these parts, his lineage begins in Croatia. When he opened his seafood restaurant in 1969, he made the most out of his connections with fellow Croatian-Americans.

The restaurant was already considered the best oyster vendor in town by many when in 1995 Drago’s son Tommy created this new, wonderfully simple oyste
