Why These Flavors Work

Although chocolate and vanilla are often considered opposites, and they are in fact very distinct and different flavors, they get along very well. Chocolate will always dominate vanilla, but the vanilla helps enhance the flavor of chocolate, much like salt does. The burnt sugar adds a bitter note that rounds out the chocolate flavor and the creaminess of the vanilla veil as well.
