Pre-cooked polenta needs only about 5 minutes soaking in the prescribed amount of water. It lacks the texture and taste of slow-cooked polenta, but it will do if you are in a hurry. Real polenta demands more time and attention.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 300 g polenta
  • 1 tablespoon

Method

Bring 1.5 litres of water to the boil with the salt. As soon as it boils, pour in the polenta meal slowly, whisking hard. Don’t stop whisking otherwise the grains may stick together, and make sure the water remains at a steady boil until all the polenta is in the
