  • About
A slight confusion is possible here. “Torsk” is the name for cod throughout Scandinavia, but there is also another member of the cod family called “torsk” in England but “Brosme” in Scandinavia.
It lives in the northerly part of the North Atlantic and makes quite a good eating fish, treated in the manner of cod or haddock. It averages 1 to 2 feet in length but can grow larger. The torsk is a dull reddish or greenish brown in color with a lighter underbelly. The fins are edged in white.
