Many Chinese and Southeast Asian dishes and snacks are dipped into a variety of dipping sauces before being eaten. The most popular of these are chilli sauce and chilli oil (see Oils). Soy sauces and red and black Chinese rice vinegars (see Vinegars) are also widely used as dips. Some recipes for dipping sauces accompany particular dishes, but they can easily be served with others.
