Water-soluble. It helps to regulate blood sugar and cholesterol levels. It works in combination with vitamins B1 and B2 in assisting energy production in cells.

Good sources: nuts, whole grains and cereals, eggs, avocados, yeast, dried beans and peas. It is also produced by the body.
