Sesame seeds

These small flattish seeds can be white, cream, brown, red or black. They have a pleasant nut-like aroma and flavour which is heightened by toasting (as, for example, in gomasio); they can be sprinkled over breads and cakes, and used in salads and biscuits/cookies.
