I love a good party, but I quickly found out that migraine diets and other people’s parties don’t mix very well. I have no idea what’s in anyone else’s food, and the community table can quickly become a minefield. This is why it’s always good to: (1) bring at least one migraine-safe dish you can eat or (2) have the party at your place.

I realize hosting a party sounds exhausting, but hear me out. You get to control the lighting situation and what time everyone arrives and leaves. You don’t even have to worry about any rogue tropical-scented candles. The food doesn’t need to be complicated either. Several of my ideas involve minimal hands-on time—like the Queso Dip, Crispy Taco-Spiced Wings, and the MSG-Free Party Mix. The Migraine-Safe Cheese Board is all about arranging store-bought items into a beautiful platter that will wow any guest (and they won’t even miss aged cheese).
