I have known Andrew as a very close friend and colleague for over 10 years. I first learned of Andrew and the Star Inn’s reputation when I was still cooking at the Punch Bowl Inn at Crosthwaite in Cumbria; the common factor being we were both featured in Diana Henry’s acclaimed book ‘The Gastro Pub Cook Book’. It was some years later before I managed to visit Harome. Everything I had heard and read was true. It is not often in our sometimes cold-hearted industry that reputations really do live up to expectations.
