Alison Awerbuch is a partner at The Pier Sixty Collection and the former chef and partner of Abigail Kirsch Catering Relationships. She has oversight of all food, beverage and creative design at Pier Sixty, The Lighthouse and Current, located at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan, producing over seven hundred events annually. Alison is an industry leader who has vast experience in all aspects of upscale high-volume catering and events in the tristate area and beyond. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), where she was valedictorian of her class. Giving back has always been critically important to Alison, and some of her career highlights include serving on the Advisory Council for Catering Magazine; being a longtime member and former president of Les Dames d’Escoffier New York; serving on the Alumni Board and as a fellow at the Culinary Institute of America, along with being a two-time graduation speaker; being a featured chef at the James Beard House and at its annual gala and culinary co-chair for SHARE’s annual fundraising events; and serving on the board of Feeding Westchester and as food and beverage chair for its annual galas for over twenty years, as well as being the 2023 event honoree. Alison has taught classes and seminars at Macy’s De Gustibus, The Greenbrier Resort, Williams-Sonoma, Westchester Community College, New York University, the CIA and CaterSource International Conferences. In addition, she has been a mentor and advocate for many who are starting out or progressing in their careers in the hospitality industry. Alison has been featured in regional and national print, television, podcasts and social media outlets, including HGTV, many local and national news segments, New York Magazine, the New York Times, Town & Country, The Knot, Vogue, House Beautiful, Catering Magazine, Serendipity magazine and Food & Wine.
