Beth Allen, who died in 2024, was president of her own cookbook production and food marketing communications firm. She was a noted authority in the fields of food, culinary science, American regional foodways and American ethnic cuisines. Beth was the coauthor of four cookbooks from Junior’s, the legendary restaurant in Brooklyn, including Junior’s Cheesecake Cookbook, as well as Reader’s Digest books such as Perfect Pies and Down Home Cooking: The New, Healthier Way.
A frequent spokesperson, Beth appeared on multimedia tours for Procter & Gamble, Campbell Soup Company, The Pillsbury Company and Corning Glass Works. She contributed to such publications as the New York Times, Woman’s Day, Self and Chef magazine. Beth was a past president of Les Dames d’Escoffier International and of the New York chapter. She was also a past president of the New York Women’s Culinary Alliance.
Beth received a master’s in advertising from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University and a bachelor of science degree in food science from Iowa State University.
