Betty Allen

Scottish chef and entrepreneur. Born in 1936 in Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland, Betty and her husband, Eric, ran a hotel in Largo (1973–78), then opened the Airds Hotel in Port Appin, Argyll (1978). Along with Hilary Brown, received a Michelin star in 1990 , the first women in Scotland to be so honored.
