Before taking the plunge into the world of culinary arts, Erika Chulini earned her master’s degree in Communications. Since an early age, however, she was always curious about cooking and she has fond memories of the family gathering around her grandmother ́s table sharing unforgettable moments with great food. These are probably some of her best childhood memories. It was only after becoming a mother that she started her studies at Le Cordon Bleu in Mexico.
Today, Chulini runs a catering service with a special emphasis on traditional cooking with attention to detail. She aims to use her love of cooking as a tool for social change by helping disadvantaged children. She is currently involved in a project that brings people together for a unique gastronomical experience to raise funds for the charitable organisation Cocina con Causa, which roughly translates to ‘Cooking with a Mission’. One hundred percent of the funds raised are donated to Casa de la Amistad (House of Friendship) and the women ́s detention centre Santa Martha Acatitla.
