Itta Werdiger

Itta Werdiger completed a Fine Arts degree, however not understanding how she was supposed to earn an income to help support her growing family, she started cooking. She has worked in the food industry since 2007, primarily as a chef. From catering, restaurant and private chef work to teaching the culinary arts, Werdiger has cooked her ass off for many years. A visionary too, she created and ran The Hester, a speakeasy supper club in 2011, and following that, was the chef/partner at the small plates, beer and wine bar Mason & Mug in 2014. Today, Chef Itta Werdiger has gained a deeper understanding of her role with food. She says, ‘My relationship with food has grown far beyond the physical dishes. I see myself as a food missionary, driven to teach and show how one can connect with the Earth, the creator and ourselves through wholesome eating.’
