Meryl Rosofsky is a food scholar, writer and educator who works at the intersection of food, medicine and the arts. Dr. Rosofsky is an adjunct professor in food studies (and recipient of the Steinhardt Teaching Excellence Award) at New York University (NYU), where she teaches experiential graduate courses on food, culture, sustainability and social justice in New Orleans and on the East End of Long Island. Meryl has an MD from Harvard Medical School and a master’s in Food Studies from NYU. Her writing has appeared in Gastronomica, Saveur and encyclopedias and journals devoted to food, culture and sustainability. She is a past board member of LDNY, the Farm2Table International Symposium and the New York Women’s Culinary Alliance. She has led food and wine tours in Tuscany and Liguria and is a budding community oyster gardener on the North Fork of Long Island.
