Ofer Vardi is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the award-winning cookbook publishing house LunchBox Press, alongside his work as an author and editor, journalist and entrepreneur. Born in Israel in 1973 to a family of Hungarian origin, he has dual nationality and has resided in Budapest since 2017, where he offers culinary tours. In 2010, he was awarded the Pro Cultura Hungarica medal by the government of Hungary for promoting Hungarian culture in Israel after publishing a bestselling Hungarian cookbook in Hebrew (which was published in English in 2024: Goulash La’Golesh:
A Hungarian-Israeli Family Cookbook). In 2020–2021, he wrote and edited for Foodish – the culinary department of ANU (Museum of the Jewish People). In 2021, he was named the best specialised cookbook publisher in the world at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
