Rafael Piqueras graduated from the Le Cordon Bleu Peru Institute, with a master’s degree from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. After completing his studies, he completed several internships abroad, including El Bulli under the direction of renowned chef Ferrán Adriá. Rafael has worked at Guido in Italy, as well 1 Michelin-star El Esguard, and 3 Michelin-star El Celler de Can Roca.
Upon his return to Peru, he worked as a gastronomic advisor for the Sumaq hotel in Cusco and corporate chef for the Double Tree at the Hilton Hotels.
Today, Piqueras is considered one of the finest chefs in Peru. Since June 2011, he has directed Maras, a fine dining restaurant located inside the Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center.
