Silvia Baldini is a classically trained Italian-born chef, a Chopped Champion and a food entrepreneur.
She is knowledgeable and passionate about sustainable food, and she holds the belief that wholesome ingredients and traditional wisdom combined with technology will be the key to living a happy and healthy life.
Silvia was born and raised in Turin, Italy. After graduating from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, she moved to New York to work in advertising, where she had a distinguished and award- winning career as a creative director on Madison Avenue.
Silvia’s formative years in Italy instilled in her a passion for the culinary arts, which led her to pursue culinary training at ICC in New York City, a master’s in restaurant management at Cornell University and a degree at Le Cordon Bleu in London. She held positions at Michelin-starred kitchens, and she worked as a cook and a chef in London, New York City and Connecticut restaurants, including the Ritz and Ottolenghi for 5 years.
Silvia established a creative food group, Strawberry and Sage, and appears on TV, including Food Network. She works with global food companies interested in thinking outside the box and developing AI, educational and culinary platforms. Silvia is an exceptional, vibrant and passionate speaker, storyteller, educator, creator, product developer, food entrepreneur and women’s rights advocate.
Silvia’s recipes have been published in Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, Parents, Saveur, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and La Cucina Italiana. She has been featured in Forbes, TechCrunch and Entrepreneurial Chef and is the author of Room at the Table: Recipes from the Heart. She is an active member and a former board executive of Les Dames d’Escoffier New York.
Silvia lives in Connecticut with her mathematician husband and two perennially famished teenagers.
