Stephanie Teekaram is a pastry chef, instructor and consultant with close to twenty years’ experience in the industry. She was born and raised in Georgetown, Guyana, and food was always at the center of her upbringing. She moved to the United States to pursue a career in the culinary arts and attended the Institute of Culinary Education, graduating with certificates in Culinary Arts, Pastry and Baking and Restaurant Management.
Since then, she has worked in some of New York’s finest restaurants, including Jean Georges, Aquavit and Devi, to name a few. Her work has been featured in the New York Times and the New York Daily News and on CNN. For several years, she has worked in Greece, assisting with the opening and daily management of an American-style bakery in Athens. For the past five years, she was located in Trinidad and Tobago, where she was tasked with the opening, systemizing and management of a pastry and baking school in Port of Spain. Stephanie currently works on consulting projects and manages a commercial wholesale bakery in New York City.
