Ismail Merchant was born into a traditional Muslim, family trom Bombay. Though he now lives in New York he still prefers the delicious food that he grew up with in India, and re-creates it in his own style. adding to his recipes what he has learned from his favourite Western cuisines. mainly French and Italian.
