As for Beefsteak Pie, adding potatoes to taste. Cut the meat in slices and dip in the seasoned flour. Cut the potatoes into slices. Place a layer of sliced potato on the bottom of the pie-dish, season, and cover with a layer of meat. Add a little onion, finely chopped. Repeat with layers of potato, meat, onion and seasoning until the dish is full. Add stock or water to one-third the depth of the dish. Then cover with pastry and cook as directed for Beefsteak Pie.
