  • ½ lb. bacon


Wash, dry and joint the rabbit, dice the beef and bacon or pork. Place these ingredients in layers in a pie-dish, season well, ¾ fill dish with stock. Cover with pastry. Bake 1¾–2 hr. in a hot oven (425°–450° F., Gas 7–8) for 15 min., and in a moderate oven (350° F., Gas 4) for the remainder of the time. Glaze with egg 20 min. before pie is cooked. Add remaind
