Sieve the icing sugar. Whip the cream and add 1 tablesp. of the sugar. Stiffly whip the egg whites and fold in the other tablesp. of sugar. Carefully mix together the cream, egg whites, quartered cherries and vanilla. Turn into a tray of the ice chamber and freeze.
