  • ½ teasp. salt
  • 2 oz.


Mix salt with warmed flour. Rub in fat. Add sugar, spice, creamed yeast, and eggs with the warm milk. Mix to a soft, light dough, beat well and put to rise. When well risen, knead the dough lightly, working in the fruit, and divide into 20–24 pieces. Form into round shapes, flatten slightly and put to prove for 15 min. Cut narrow strips of pastry 1½–2
