Sift flour and salt and rub in the fat. Mix raising agents thoroughly with the flour and add other dry ingredients. Beat egg and add with milk to make a soft dropping consistency. Place in a greased 7-in. cake-tin and bake in a fairly hot oven (375° F., Gas 5). Reduce heat after 15 min. t
