Line a 6-in. cake-tin with greaseproof paper. Cream the fat and sugar till light and white, add the beaten eggs gradually, beating well between each addition. Add the walnuts, essence and the sifted flour, baking-powder and salt. Put the mixture into the cake-tin and bake in a moderate oven (350° F<
