Spaghetti

Ingredients

  • ½ lb. spaghetti
  • 1 oz. butter
  • 2 oz. grated cheese
  • pt. white or tomato sauce
  • nutmeg
  • cayenne pepper
  • salt and pepper

Method

Put the spaghetti into boiling salted water, cook rapidly for about 20 min. or until tender, and drain well. Stir in the butter, cheese and sauce, add nutmeg, cayenne, salt and pepper to taste, and mix well. The spaghetti may be served in this state, or, if white sauce has been used, it may be browned in the oven or under the grill in a shallow baking-dish.
