Method

Roll out pastry thinly, cut into strips about 4 in. long and about ⅛ in. wide, and from the trimmings cut out some rings of about 1¼ in. diameter. Bake in a fairly hot oven (400° F., Gas 6) until crisp. Cool on the baking-sheet. Fill each ring with straws and arrange neatly on a dish.
