‘A recipe typical of southern Italy, using small peppers which are similar in look to chilli peppers. They are green, about 7.5cm (3 in) long, and very sweet in flavour. The whole pepper is eaten, even the seeds, as they are very tender. If you buy the peppers outside Italy, do make sure they are the right ones - cooking chillies in this recipe would be disastrous!
