You won’t find cazzoeula (or casserole) in a posh Milanese restaurant, but rather in a good family-run trattoria or - better still - a Lombardian home. On a winter’s evening, when it’s already dark and foggy in Milan (it usually is), this is the ideal comforting dish to lift your spirits after a hard day’s work. There are many local versions of this dish, but I have chosen the one from Milan.
