Nothing beats the flavor of caramel made from scratch. There are a few tricks to remember, but you’ll find the caramel sauce easy after the first try. This recipe makes a little extra so it’s easier to dip the apples. Use a silicone spatula to spread any remaining caramel on a silicone mat and sprinkle with flaky sea salt—yum! Be sure the apples are washed and dried. Any moisture or waxy coating will cause the caramel to slide down the apple.
