The fresh nutty flavors of coconut really come out when frozen into a sorbet. This is an ideal accompaniment to chocolate desserts.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons coconut milk
  • ½ cup whole m

Method

  1. Bring the coconut milk, milk, cream, and sugar to a simmer, stirring occasionally, over medium heat in a large saucepan. Remove from the heat and transfer to a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Cool in the refrigerator (or over the bowl of ice water, which is faster) until cold. Stir in the syrup and rum. Transfer to an ice cream machine and freeze according to the manufactu
