  • About

This is one of Sicily’s popular dishes or side dishes, which is delicious served with fish or on top of bread like brochetta or bruschettà. Every home and restaurant has its own special twist and in Sicily, with nine provinces, there are nine regional variations. For example, Catania includes peppers, Palermo adds toasted pine nuts and Agrigento almonds, and Messina makes theirs Mexican-style with chocolate or cocoa powder! It is a vibrant mix of vegetables - and chocolate in this case!
