Delicias aka Almond and Chocolate ‘Delights’

Delicias: Almond and chocolate ‘delights'. An understatement. This recipe comes from Valencia, the great orange garden of Spain. In April and May, the trees are as pretty as spring brides, and the intense perfume of the blossom intoxicating. Later in the year, the groves between the mountains and the sea are ablaze with luminous fruit and shiny leaves of baize-green. These petit fours always remind me of the best fruit of all - the one you eat straight from the tree.
