This fruit salad is a great accompaniment to Indonesian-Style Roast Duck with Coconut or Indonesian Chicken Saté. It’s also wonderful tossed with a little watercress or other greens.
In a small saucepan, boil the sugar and water over medium-high heat for 5 minutes. Add the pepper flakes and lemon juice. Let cool a bit.
